(Editor's Note: The following is from a press release distributed to the news media Friday, August 3. It reports on the plans being developed for Mr. Armstrong's initial contact with the leadership of the world's most populous nation.)

Stanley Rader, spokesman for the Pasadena based Worldwide Church of God, announced that the final preparations are being made for the Church founder Herbert W. Armstrong's early September visit to main land China.

Mr. Rader met today with Japanese officials, who are also invited to China, regarding the coming joint meetings with leading Chinese government officials.

Next week Yr. Rader is slated to visit Peking, Nanking, and Shanghai in order to set up the Ambassador International Cultural Foundation's latest humanitarian project.

The Project entails the donating of American Published, English language books to the libraries of that vast country.
