Does fire prevention have your attention? "Fire! Fire!" As the blaze licks its way down the corridors of the high-rise apartment building, its sleep-dazed residents begin to run to the hallways to see what's going on. Coughing can be heard everywhere. People rush for the exits and elevators as they flee the smoke and flames. Some leap from windows. Rarely does a day go by without something like this happening somewhere in the world. Each year, thousands or people die in fires in their homes and apartments. One third or the victims are children. The sad thing is that most of these deaths could have been prevented. Many lives are lost in fires because or panic and the belief that things like this don't happen to ourselves - only to other people. Ask yourself, "How would I react during a fire in my home?"
