Herbert W. Armstrong founded the Worldwide Church of God in the late 1930s, as well as Ambassador College in 1946, and was an early pioneer of radio and tele-evangelism, originally taking to the airwaves in the 1930s from Eugene, Oregon.

Some people look upon Christianity as something to PUT OFF, if possible, until a last-minute death-bed confession - assuming that thus they can enjoy life, and still escape the tortures of hell. No wander there are scoffers who sneer than religion is an irrational superstition, believed only by the gullible and unthinking.
