The first printed edition of The Plain Truth, silencing atheists at a funeral, continued growth of the work in spite of hardship and opposition are covered in this 38th installment. The first expansion of the broad cast had come about mid-November, 1936 - almost three years after we had first started on the air. At that time, using Postal Telegraph wires, we started a local network, feeding the 10:00 A.M. Sunday morning program from KORE, Eugene, Oregon, to two additional stations, KXL, Portland, and KSLM, Salem. These, like our original KORE, were the smallest-powered commercial stations in operation - a mere 100 watts.
