Herbert W. Armstrong founded the Worldwide Church of God in the late 1930s, as well as Ambassador College in 1946, and was an early pioneer of radio and tele-evangelism, originally taking to the airwaves in the 1930s from Eugene, Oregon.

The surprising manner in which beautiful Ambassador College cam pus was providentially opened; and the first nation-wide baptizing tour. YES, THAT eventful year 1946 marked the very beginning of the ORGANIZED Work of God in these last days. And, as TWELVE is God's number of organizational beginnings, this was twelve years after the start of the end-time Work of God in 1934. The most exciting and important events of that pivotal year were yet to occur. Up to this point, it had been virtually a one-man operation. But God did not intend His great mission to be carried out by anyone individual. Not even the one man, Jesus Christ. It was to become the organized commission of His Church.
