"BEHOLD, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity?' This experience happened among your brethren in Big Sandy on an ordinary Sunday, amid the rumors of a cold "Norther" moving in to plummet temperatures below freezing. On February 24, at four in the morning, excited men clad in work clothes began driving from Dallas, Fort Worth, Sherman and Greenville. Why? To join other men from Gladewater, Longview, Tyler and surrounding areas for a day of WORK that turned out to be a well-remembered lesson of brethren dwelling together in unity. Men from the Dallas and Gladewater Churches of God had organized a work party to assist in clearing ground in preparation for the expansion of the tabernacle grounds. Five crews were well equipped.
