JERUSALEM - Climaxing a round-the-clock flurry of shuttle flights by U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Israel and Egypt have initialed a new accord on separation of forces in the Sinai. The interim agreement, signed September1, is the first in a planned series of steps designed to bring about a defusing of the Middle East tinderbox.
