This is lecture number 7, Patriarchal Life - Part 1, the Ancient Israel class. We're going to begin the closer examination of the lives of the Patriarchs to see the way they lived that life in terms of their social and religious customs and how it fits into the view of second millennium B.C. the period from approximately 2000 B.C. to around 1800 B.C. which would be the time of the Patriarchs. Now one very important aspect of the lifestyle was the nature of the Patriarchal household. We even use the word Patriarch today in much the same way that it was used in ancient times...
