Pastor General Staff

This week the letter comments from our Mail Processing Center concern the Correspondence Course. At the present time there are 65,700 active students. A breakdown of those taking the course shows that the majority (52,200) are regulars with an additional 9,400 donors and 2,600 co-workers. These individuals represent potential future growth, especially the large number of regulars who are interested enough to take the course in the first place.

Other Bible correspondence course students have already said what I could say so why say it again. Therefore, I shall state myself a bit differently. Your Correspondence Course is 'out of this world' or 'in the world but not of this world.

—Grace Guenther (New Castle, PA)

We have received the first two lessons of the Correspondence Course, and are impressed with the manner in which the material is presented. The lessons are interesting and stimulating, and most important, they encourage us to read the Bible, and help us understand it better.

—Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Daisey (Modest Town, VA)

As to your Bible Course??"I majored in theology years ago, but your lessons are really comprehensive and in-depth and so clearly interpreted that even though I’m only on lesson 5, I’ve learned more than all my years at an eastern university. I’m certainly looking forward to meeting you and your father and the staff.

—Mr. J. E. Epley (Concord, CA)

I have your Bible Correspondence Course and I am on the last section. I have decided to write out the material and have written over 300 pages in answers alone and I intend on going back over the whole course again for a better and more complete understanding. To describe how great a course it is would be almost impossible. It's worth millions to me and it would be hard to repay you for all I have learned throughout the 12 lessons.

Thanks seems not enough for how l feel inside about all the material you've sent me over the years. I'm 17 years old and feel as if I have an advantage over my friends and other young people who know nothing of what's to happen in the near, very near, future.

—Danny Ellis (Kenner, LA)

I enjoy reading your messages, especially the Bible Course.

I have never had the Bible explained to me so clearly. I am learning what I should have known 40 years ago, but even at 64 I am learning and have learned so much through your goodness and kindness, and I thank you so very much.

—Ophelia Jones (Chicago, IL)

I'm now receiving the Correspondence Course. Words can't express my thanks. I'm being helped more every day to understand God's Word more clearly. The Bible is really coming alive to me. It's talking about me, about those around me. God's Word is for today—not just a story of what happened to people a long time ago. Anyway, I just wanted to express my thanks.

—Vicky Swain (Albuquerque, NM)

Amazing is the only word that I can think of for your Correspondence Course. For years I have wanted to get a Bible, but kept putting it off. I have always felt that any man who hadn't read the Bible was not a well-read man, and that I wanted to be. Thank you for the opportunity to understand what a real Christian should know. I have never heard or read it put better or more convincing. Thank you again.

—Glenn Durham (Birmingham, MI)

I would like to thank you for giving me the important information I've been receiving from you. It seems that I just can't read enough. I have learned a great deal through the Correspondence Course and I'm only on the third lesson! I really cannot explain what I feel except that for the first time I can really know what's going to happen and why. It's been in front of my face all the time and I never really understood it until now. I thank you ever so much.

—Micki Cole (Kearney, NE)

Your course is the only thing that makes sense in the religion field and explains things that otherwise seem rather foggy and not clear. Thanks to you.

—Henry L. Marpel (Buckhannon, WV)

I can't begin to tell you how much I've been helped and enlightened through this study. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening my eyes to the truth from God's Word.

—Mrs. Lois Harris (Los Angeles, CA)

When the first lessons of my Correspondence Course arrived, I didn't have time to sit down and read them. Last month l decided I would have to make myself find the time. Am I glad that I did! I can't tell you what a change it has made in my life. Now I read the Bible with meaning and understanding. I plan on an hour. each day for studying, but more often than not it is hours later that I finally put the course aside. No monetary value can be put on what I have gained from the Correspondence Course.

—Mrs. Craig Woods Hadden (Pittsfield, MA)
