In the recent months we've heard a lot about war and warfare ever since the time of the terrorist attack in New York and Washington, we've been hearing all this talk about a war. The president has talked about war, making war on terrorisms. We’ve had war going on in Afghanistan and the might of the American military has been pounding away. Now that that seems to be winding down there are those who are speculating on where are we going to go next? What are we going to do next? And there is that talk of war is in the air. Well, you know the Bible has a lot to say about war, a lot to say about warfare in particularly in the context of the Christian life and that is what I want to focus our attention on here this afternoon. The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy in I Timothy 1:18, and he said "This charge I commit unto you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies that went before on you, that you by them might war a good warfare. Holding faith, and a good conscience, which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck."
