Everyone's eyes are on you. What kind of first impression will you give? When you walk into a classroom, an office or a bus, for an instant you receive the undivided attention of those around you. In that instant those observing you decide whether you are a threat or an attraction, or whether you are of interest to them or not. What does that first instant tell people about you? It may not seem fair that people don't even have the patience to wait for you to open your mouth before making a judgment - but that's usually the way it is. If you ruin this first moment, you will have to work awfully hard to disprove that impression later. Without being aware of it, many times we give impressions and messages to others by what we wear - messages far different from what you might think. In today's fast-paced society, contacts are brief and we often get just one chance to tell another person who we are. We can't afford to waste an opportunity by sending the wrong message.
