When people hear the name Bermuda, many of them immediately think of the infamous Bermuda Triangle. And with good reason, because Bermuda is the northernmost point of a triangular mystery zone stretching from Bermuda to Florida and down to the Caribbean. Thousands of men and hundreds of ships and planes have been disappearing there without a trace for decades. But despite the stigma attached to Bermuda, each year more than a half million tourists and residents travel safely to and from the island by sea and air. Where is Bermuda? Most people think that it is one of the many tiny West Indian islands scattered throughout the Caribbean Sea. But Bermuda is more than a thousand miles to the north, just 580 miles off the coast of North Carolina in the Atlantic Ocean.
