"Oh, Dad!" lamented Chris, as she greeted her father at the front door. "Our school guidance counselor told us that if we plan to go to college, we need to register soon for the SAT test. It's three hours long and I've heard it's really hard. What if I don't do well?" Many teens experience a fear of college admissions tests. You don't need to worry about taking these tests, however, if you know a few facts about them. Many colleges and universities require that applicants take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) as part of their admissions requirements. Colleges use the test data to select students for admission, for research purposes and to help advise students.
