A stiff sea breeze was playfully chasing the clouds across the water. It was a perfect day for sailing. We were setting out in the Thekla, a trim red-and-white sailing yacht, for a day on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Thekla's captain - a gray bearded German fellow - had built the yacht some 20 years ago, had sailed it around the world several times and now lived in it with his wife. Now he was shouting orders in a thick accent to his three deckhands.
