As a 6-year-old boy, I didn't fully understand what my parents' divorce meant. Nor did I grasp all of the immediate and future problems I would face because of my family's breakup. What I did know was that my life was more complicated. I felt rejected, unloved and hurt. What's going to happen to us now that Dad is gone? I wondered. My future looked, at best, uncertain.
