"What right do you have to tell me what to do? You're not my real father anyway!" I said, as I ran into the bedroom and slammed the door behind me. My mother's divorce was very confusing to me, but her remarriage affected me far more than I wanted to admit to myself. As far as I was concerned, he was my mother's husband and nothing more. Never would I allow him to take the place of my natural father. No sir, he would never be my dad! Well, it didn't take me long to figure out that I couldn't live like that. But what was I to do? There I was, a confused little boy with two fathers. One who never seemed to have time for me, and one I really didn't want - or did I?
