"What's this?" he exclaims as he closely inspects small fragments of glass lodged in a crack in the floorboards. He patiently scans his surroundings for additional clues. He lightly dusts a door handle and examines it for fingerprints. Scratching his head, he slowly paces across the room. "Aha!" Stooping down, he lifts a tiny, pale thread lying next to a chair. "This thread is identical to the material of the torn coat discovered under the seat of the suspect's automobile!"
