That's what most people think of when they hear about the deserts expanding. And that misconception is part of the problem, according to a United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) report. The report, called "Harvest of Dust," evaluates the fight against the world's expanding deserts. In the seven years since the world's nations began working together on the problem, it has grown worse, not better, the report says.
