What do eating raw fish, going to Disneyland and wearing kimonos have in common? They're all part of teen life in the world's second largest city: Tokyo, Japan. Although Tokyo is best known for its automobiles, cameras and modern electronic gadgets, the life-style there is shaped by long-standing traditions. When Tokyo was founded, it was named Edo, which means "estuary" - where the river meets the sea. On the banks of three major rivers, much of Edo was marshland. The site was considered ideal for rice farming, but not so great for a city.
