Herbert W. Armstrong founded the Worldwide Church of God in the late 1930s, as well as Ambassador College in 1946, and was an early pioneer of radio and tele-evangelism, originally taking to the airwaves in the 1930s from Eugene, Oregon.
Personal from Herbert W Armstrong - Eisaku Sato, Prime Minister of Japan eight years, 1964-1972, died June 3 from a stroke suffered May 19 while dining at a restaurant in Tokyo. He went into a coma and never regained consciousness. He was my warm friend, He gave me considerable credit for helping in what he regarded as his greatest achievement, accomplishing the reversion of Okinawa back to Japan. "I first met him in December 1970. The morning newspapers on the day of our meeting headlined a riot in Okinawa against the U.S. forces then occupying and governing the island.
