One night after track practice I asked a friend for change to make a telephone call. I gave him a quarter and he gave me two dimes and a nickel. But it wasn't just an ordinary nickel, it was a 1950-D nickel, which at that time was worth about $8. For a coin collector like me, this was quite a find. Coin collecting or numismatics is "the study or collection of coins, tokens and paper money," according to Webster's dictionary. It's a hobby that I have enjoyed since I was 5 years old. In a sense we are all coin collectors - who can get by in this world without money? You probably have coins in your pocket right now, maybe even some paper money. (Maybe not as much as you want, but...)
