People today seem to be getting away with more all the time. But you wouldn't expect someone in the Bible to lie and cheat and get away with it, would you? How could God allow a man to lie to his father, steal from his brother, and as a result inherit the finest chunk of real estate on earth? Have you ever wondered why God let Jacob get away with stealing Esau's blessing? Why was he unpunished for committing such an underhanded, deceitful act? Should we assume from this Bible example that God rewards liars and cheaters? Is this the way to get ahead in the world? It certainly seems to have worked for Jacob. Or did it?
