Do people borrow things from you without asking? Do they return them in the same condition - or worse? Can borrowing even be stealing? I have a pair of binoculars, and every time I see them, they remind me of someone. You see, once someone wanted to borrow them to go mountain climbing and I was happy to loan them. However, at the top of the mountain my binoculars fell down a cliff face, damaging the lens covers and marking the frame. They still worked, but the rock marks and indentations are a perpetual reminder to me of someone who borrowed an item and returned it in a worse condition than before. A simple trip to a binocular store could have repaired the damage at small cost and ensured a lasting good impression - instead of a bad one!
