Question: My problem is that people like to tease me, and I don't know how to make them stop. For example, my friends keep saying that I "love" a boy on my school bus, even though he and I are just friends and have no romantic interest in each other at all. This is just one example of many. Answer: You are not alone in your frustration at being teased. All of us at one time or another have been made fun of and resented it. Of course, some teasing is harmless, and is merely an expression of fondness between friends who like to joke with each other. This kind of teasing hurts no one and should be laughed off, or countered with some good natured response. Teasing that is continual, harmful, in bad taste or otherwise offensive is another matter. While no one can force another to stop destructive teasing, some things can be done.
