The United States Government is spending billions in tax dollars in a fond hope that economic assistance will prevent the recurrence of Fascism. But the same causes that once produced Fascism still exist. Our economic aid is not solving Italy's problem; it is merely postponing the ultimate RETURN OF FASCISM. IT IS vital that you know what is really happening in Italy. How is American aid being administered? Have the Italian people altered their ways of thinking since the days of Mussolini? Or is belief in Fascism still prevalent? While in Rome I had an important conference with the press representative of the Italian Foreign Ministry. The official explained the seriousness of Italy's unsolved problem of overpopulation. He revealed to me why it will pave the way for the return of Fascism.
