Should one read love magazines?
J.L.

The typical stories related in "love magazines" center on love triangles, sexual promiscuity, wife swapping, abortions and homosexuality. People read these adventures as a form of escapism.
Evaluate yourself. Have you ever identified yourself with the poor dejected woman who is suing her estranged husband for the custody of a child engendered by some lover?
Too many are living vicariously in this cheap form of escapism! Time can be, and should be, put to better use. One should change his reading habits and become a selective reader.
Ask yourself, "Is this book, or magazine I am about to read contributing useful, upbuilding knowledge? What benefit will be derived from it?"
There are many wholesome biographies available — well written and vibrantly interesting. Read the life stories of successful men and women, when you need a change of pace or a half hour of relaxation.
