We must sacrifice everything to this end. Winning is the only true goal," said one prominent American professional football coach. He is by no means alone in this "win-at-all-costs" philosophy. During the six months of football season, every player is expected to put family, church, and other aspects of his life aside. Football must be the player's number one passion. Commandment number three says, "1f you can accept defeat and open your pay envelope without feeling guilty, then you're stealing." This coach adds, "Life without victories is like being in prison."
