SALZBURG: The forces of President Thieu fleeing before the armies of Hanoi, the assassination of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, and Henry Kissinger's failure to bring peace to the Middle East - these seemingly unrelated events portend greater trouble for our all too troubled world and place an even greater strain on the already too delicate fabric of our world order. Nevertheless, these events are related in one significant and little emphasized sense. They prove once again that man, placing his faith in man alone, whether he be president, king or secretary of state cannot bring about a peaceable world. Israeli Prime Minister Rabin, on Dr. Kissinger's departure from Israel at the end of the fruitless talks, stressed that the Secretary of State had done more than one human being could ever be expected to do in his singular effort to bring about a negotiated settlement in the volatile Middle East.
