For humans, reproduction is anything but boring. But for the ichneumon wasp, survival hinges on the ability of the female to be a very boring mother. If you are like most people, you have probably encountered an occasional dull individual who spoke in a deadly monotone and left you bored stiff. But you would hardly suspect that there are some insects that bore fellow insects to death-literally. One prominent example is the female ichneumon wasp. Being a conscientious parent, she only wants the best dietary delicacies for her future offspring.
