On January 5, 1968, the Radio Church of God (founded October 21, 1933) was renamed the Worldwide Church of God. Soon after, the church began to broadcast a television version of The World Tomorrow. The program would eventually expand to 382 U.S. television stations, and 36 television outlets internationally.

Statesmen could know. Those involved in international affairs could be forewarned. Here, according to Bible prophecy, is what lies ahead for the U.S.S.R. and the nations and peoples on the outer rim of Asia. Two new words have entered the English language as a result of a dramatic cultural and economic transformation now underway inside the Soviet Union. The first one, the most familiar, is glasnost, roughly translated as "openness." It reflects the new, more open spirit of candor on the part of Soviet officials both in dealing with the West and in permitting greater latitudes of public expression inside the traditionally rigid Soviet society.
