Right on Time
Agnes Youngblood

Can you imagine an airline advertising that it has the worst on-time record in the world? Although everyone is late sometime, we don't generally brag about it. In fact, the record books have no entry for the world's latest person! What's so bad about being late? Consider this example, 50 wasted hours. It's your first class meeting of the year. The 200 members of your class shuffle over each other in the tight aisles of the old auditorium, and finally everyone is ready to begin. But someone is missing. The minutes tick by. Throughout the auditorium there is a murmur of protest about the delay. A few people in the back get up and walk out. Finally, 15 minutes late, the class president enters the room. This example points out one reason it is important to be on time: concern for other people.
