At the time, she was about fifteen, probably still unspoiled, expressing her ideas to a boy friend. But her desire to enjoy life to the full led to a life of immorality. Later, it precipitated an international scandal in high places. After she was sixteen Christine had an illegitimate baby. It died after five days. A high government official was disgraced, a Prime Minister resigned, a prominent man committed suicide as a result of their lurid disclosures. The entice world was shocked.
